Tantric Ganja was created in Hawaii by Mojo Mustapha, the former Community Director at the Hedonisia Hawaii EcoFeminist Community.
Mojo has tried to work on gender equality in ways that focus more on female empowerment. His first ecofeminist project was about reproductive rights. The website he created for reproductive choice has been accessed by over 1 million women worldwide.
As the Community Director of Hedonisia Hawaii, he further developed his approach of using business as a vehicle for gender equality, social and environmental change using ideas gleaned from his travels around the world.
One of those ideas was Tantric Ganja, an idea that was born at Hedonisia Hawaii. Mojo had learned about the ancient history of marijuana and sexuality on his travels to India and then worked on the recipe at Hedonisia.
In 2018, Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano erupted and destroyed the Hedonisia Hawaii community.
Mojo turned his sadness into energy to work on other projects. Ironically, with the loss of Hedonisia, he had time to focus on Tantric Ganja.
He had been doing informal studies of Tantric Ganja THC with sex-positive friends in Portland with great results. But he had hesitated to bring the product to market because Hedonisia took so much of his time.
In Portland he works with NuLeaf Project, a non-profit supporting people of color who were unduly affected by the Drug Wars, in creating entrepreneur or professional opportunities related to the cannabis industry.
As a participant in their program, Mojo is managing the opportunity to make Tantric Ganja, a beverage for the consent culture generation.
